Joshuas Flowers

Im not really a political person.  However now again things stir me up.  Take this for instance:-

just over 2 years ago a boys life was taken.  He was riding to school when he was involved in a fatal accident with a van. He was almost at school.  A place he loved going to.  Soon after the tragedy the community started placing flowers around the nearest lamp post.  The family decided to maintain the pole as they didnt want it to look morbid.  Usually there is only a small bunch of artifical flowers there.

The council now want to remove it.  A neighbour has complained about it.  However a spokeswoman for the family said that the person wasnt even living there at the time.  She doesnt know why it would upset them.  She doesnt want people to hate that person.  If you ask me the council needs to leave things alone.  They need to allow this family the right to grief and to be able to express their  their feelings.  The family dont want to have everything removed.

The family of the young lad intention was that they wanted to save other families from going through this.  It can help children to think before they cross the road.  It can remind motorists to take care.  Other people in the community that use the road say its not sad for them it reminds them to be extra careful.  Its a symbol to help others to remember and reflect on the life of a  beautiful young person.  It shows a community that love and care for each other.  I agree this should be encouraged not frowned upon.

There has been a Face Book page set up if you care to follow it :)
